Percy Allen (1909-1989) was also sometimes referred to as Pearcy Allen; I'm not sure which name is correct. He was playing for a Toronto post office team in 1938 when he took a leave of absence from his job and was loaned to the Sudbury Wolves to help them win the world championship that year. He retired from hockey in 1940 and was a minor league referee for a number of years.
A search turned up this biography of him from a hockey archives website. His game-worn world championship jersey and gold medals were auctioned off a few years ago.
