Elizabeth Kelso

Toronto Daily Star, February 8 1927

The caption doesn't make clear whether Ms. Kelso was being arrested for the robbery or for a related charge. Presumably, the fancy coat she is wearing was obtained with the proceeds of the heist, or perhaps that's what we're just meant to think.

I could find out very little about the robbery of the Phenix National Bank. I did find this page, which stated that four members of a gang of five robbed the bank on April Fool's Day 1926; one robber was caught and sentenced, and two were tried and acquitted. But this page does not mention Ms. Kelso, and I have no idea what happened to her.
