George Manfredi did go on to play professional baseball, but not very well and not for very long. He appeared in 27 games for the class-A Hartford Senators of the Eastern League in 1929, compiling an earned-run average of 4.77. He played for the Hartford Senators and the Albany Senators in 1930; presumably, they were the same team and moved in mid-season. He was even worse that year and did not play pro ball again.
Manfredi is a member of the NYU Hall of Fame - he was inducted in 1979, half a century after he graduated. His claim to fame was that he pitched the first no-hitter in NYU history.
