Ms. McFadden was being somewhat ambitious here: in 1931, the Oakland Oaks played in the Pacific Coast League. This was classified as Class AA ball, two rungs below the majors; over two dozen players on their roster played in the majors at some point in their career. Eventually, the Pacific Coast League would be classified AAA; Casey Stengel managed the Oaks from 1946 to 1948, just before becoming the manager of the New York Yankees.
I could find nothing on Phyllis McFadden on the Internet. This appears to have been her one moment of fame.
