Seena Owen (1894-1966) was born Signa Auen; her parents had moved to the United States from Denmark. Her stage name was a phonetic spelling of her birth name. Wikipedia lists her date of divorce, from actor George Walsh, as 1924; I have no idea whether Wikipedia is incorrect or this photo caption is.
Ms. Owen appeared regularly in movies from 1915 to 1929. Her voice was too weak for sound, so she worked as a screenwriter on films through the 1930s and 1940s. (Her sister, Lillie Hayward, was a successful screenwriter for over forty years.) And, indeed, she never married again.
