Jackie Price

Toronto Daily Star, July 21 1950

Jackie Price (1912-1967) played in seven major-league games for the Cleveland Indians in 1946. Before that, he had been a prospect in the St. Louis Cardinals system both before and after the Second World War. The war took away most of his prime years.

After his playing career, he became a baseball comedian, sometimes working with Max Patkin and sometimes on his own. Among other things, he could throw baseballs to three different recipients simultaneously. (Trigger warning ahead.) In 1967, he committed suicide by hanging himself.

The Toronto Maple Leafs baseball team existed before the Leafs hockey team did. They were in existence from 1896 to 1967.

Created November 4, 2025.
