The Flirtations - Nothing But A Heartache

May 1969 - Weeks On Chart: 7 - Highest Position: 4

This sounds a lot like an early Supremes record, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

The Flirtations were originally known as The Gypsies, releasing four singles under that name. In 1968, The Flirtations relocated to England, where they recorded "Nothing But A Heartache". It reached #34 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, but was more successful in some locations, including Toronto.

The group has kept at it ever since, releasing singles through 1989 and then starting up again in 2009. Their latest single release was in 2015.

Created February 10, 2026.
