This is somewhere between cabaret and pop. It seemed to be more style than substance and I couldn't make it through the whole thing.
Jefferson was a recording name used by Geoff Turton (born 1944), who was from Birmingham in England. He was a member of The Rockin' Berries, who had some hits in Britain between 1963 and 1965. His second single release, "The Colour Of My Love", reached #22 in Britain but did not chart in North America. "Baby Take Me In Your Arms" was the followup to this; it reached #23 in the U.S. and #15 in Canada but did not chart in the UK.
Unfortunately, Jefferson's career was stalled at this point when he was in an automobile accident that resulted in a six-month hospital stay. He toured the U.S. after his recovery and released another album and single but didn't have any further success. After this, he returned to his given name and to The Rockin' Berries; he toured with them into the 1990s.
