This is generic mid-1970s pop. It sticks in the brain but isn't deeply meaningful.
Jigsaw were from the city and town of Coventry and Rugby in England. They formed in 1966 as a blues-rock band; by 1970, according to Wikipedia, they "became known for raucous live shows with drum kits set on fire, explosions, fire-eating, and occasional property damage". Whee!
The band started releasing singles in 1968, including an arrangement of Bach's "Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring", released in 1971, that later became a hit for Apollo 100. A version of "Sky High" was recorded as the theme song for the movie The Man from Hong Kong; the released single version reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and in Canada and reached #9 in the UK.
The band reached #30 on the Hot 100 in 1976 with "Love Fire" and #36 in the UK in 1977 with "If I Have To Go Away", but that was all the success they would achieve. They stopped touring in the early 1980s and broke up in 1983 after one final unsuccessful single release.
