This song would normally be too cloying and sentimental for my taste but, for some reason, I like it. I have to call them as I see them.
Mercy were from Florida. Frontman and group founder Jack Sigler Jr. wrote "Love (Can Make You Happy)"; it went to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and sold over one million copies.
The band produced an album and a followup single, "Forever", which reached #79, but that was about it. They are apparently still out touring, with Sigler as the only original member.
