Spiral Starecase - More Today Than Yesterday

May 1969 - Weeks On Chart: 7 - Highest Position: 7

I remember hearing this when I was younger. Normally, I'm not fond of hearing that many horns in my pop songs; other people's mileage may vary.

Spiral Starecase were from Sacramento, California and were originally known as The Fydallions. "More Today Than Yesterday" reached #12 on the Billboard Hot 100. Two subsequent singles made it to the lower reaches of the charts.

The band split up about 18 months after their hit. A revised lineup, without lead singer Pat Upton, toured extensively in the 1970s and the mid-1980s.

Created February 7, 2026.
